Awareness Program by Team Jaywik at Delhi Nagar Nigam Prathmik Vidyalaya

On September 11, 2024, Team Jaywik conducted an important awareness program at Delhi Nagar Nigam Prathmik Vidyalaya in Rohini. This initiative was prompted by concerns over frequent snake sightings at the school, particularly large species such as cobras, which posed significant risks to students and staff.
Our involvement began when the school contacted us about a snake encounter. We promptly responded to the call, successfully rescuing the snake and releasing it back into its natural habitat. During our visit, we discovered that the area around the school was heavily infested with snakes, raising serious safety concerns for everyone on the premises.
Following discussions with school officials, they requested an educational program to raise awareness among students and staff about snake safety. We agreed and organized an engaging session on September 11, 2024.
The program was well-received, with interactive sessions designed to educate participants about various snake species, identification, safety measures when encountering snakes, and first aid for snake bites. The children and teachers actively participated, asking insightful questions which our team addressed thoroughly.
We are committed to continuing our efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of the community and are grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact at Delhi Nagar Nigam Prathmik Vidyalaya.
Our Cause

Our Rescue Operations and Commitment to Animal Welfare
Welcome to Jaywik Foundation, where we are dedicated to making a positive impact on both animals and the broader community.
As an organization committed to animal welfare, we receive rescue calls from two primary sources: local individuals who are familiar with our work and have reached out to us previously, as well as the Police Control Room (PCR) for disaster management. Due to our efficient response and action-taking abilities, we often receive frequent calls for assistance.
In our field operations, time is of the essence. The wild animals we rescue can be potentially dangerous if not helped promptly, posing risks to themselves and others. Therefore, upon receiving a rescue call, we immediately request for visual documentation such as pictures and videos, along with the precise location of the wounded animal. This enables us to swiftly dispatch volunteers equipped with the necessary gear for a successful rescue mission.
In cases where the animal is large or requires additional support, we collaborate with the wildlife department for assistance. Concurrently, we meticulously document each rescue by having individuals involved sign a rescue memo. This document includes vital information such as the rescue location, type of animal, caller’s name and address, donation details, and more.
Once the animal is safely rescued, we inform the nearby wildlife department and transfer custody for proper treatment and eventual release into the wild. However, if the wildlife department is unavailable, rest assured that we prioritize the animal’s safety and provide necessary treatment before releasing it back into its natural habitat.
At present, Jaywik Foundation operates across various regions in India, including Delhi NCR, Rajasthan, Punjab, Gujarat, and Maharashtra. Our commitment to animal welfare and community service drives us to continually strive for excellence in our endeavors. Join us in making a difference today.
